Varsity Evaluations – Grades 6-8
Open gyms and evaluations will be held in May and will be sent out as soon as
we have definitive dates. Grades 3-5 are balanced teams, and Grades 6-8
have both competitive and recreational teams. If your daughter is selected
for an "A" team, there might be some additional fees for extra
tournament games once the schedule is finalized.
Youth Evaluations – Grade 3-5
Evaluations for youth are conducted by different grade parents, coaches,
coordinators, and/or athletic director at each grade level. The girls are
scored on a variety of skills, which then groups them by the number of teams
that are to be formed. The blind draft uses numbers for the coaches to pick
from in each group, balancing the team with all levels.
Boosters will not accept request for parents at the Youth levels to pair up as
Coaches before evaluations and team selections. All Assistant Coaches for
Youth Level teams are selected at the time of the draft.
Remember, parents are not allowed to stay and watch the evaluations. Teams will
be announced the day after school is out for summer.
Based on Booster rules, if your child does not want to play for a competitive
team, you need to email the Coordinator and Athletic Director before
evaluations. However, all requests ARE subject to Boosters being able to
balance rosters across all the teams. Boosters retains the right to adjust all
team rosters if needed to conform with League rules and/or avoid cancelling a
Everybody needs to come to at least one evaluation if they want to play
volleyball, no matter what team A, B, or C. Based on the evaluation scores, the
coordinator and athletic director can decide what mix of teams best fits the
dynamic of the girls; i.e. 1A, 1B, 1C team or 1A and 2C teams.
In keeping with prior years, evaluations will be independently conducted
by several parties. The results are thoroughly discussed amongst all the
evaluators before teams are formed. This is the process for finalizing all
A, B, and C teams.
Note, parents are not allowed to stay and watch the evaluations. Teams will
also be announced the day after school is out for summer.
