In preparation for the upcoming volleyball evaluations, we have scheduled the following OPEN GYMS:
These open gyms are great opportunities for your daughter to come out and get some touches on the volleyball before evaluations in May. ALL players are welcome! As the girls get older, the height of the net as well as the distance of the serving line may change.
We have scheduled the following Evaluations for YOUTH players (incoming grades 3-5):
Incoming 4th & 5th graders -- IF POSSIBLE, please try to make both evaluations.
Incoming 3rd graders -- if you are not able to make the evaluations on 5/18/19, please contact me (see below) to schedule a makeup evaluation.
Please contact Erin Spidare if you have any questions or are interested in being a Coach (head or assistant). contact me with any questions or concerns!
(Grades 6th – 8th grade)
for the upcoming fall volleyball season is STILL OPEN!
You can register your
daughter at www.stsusannatitans.com…but
please note, registration closes 4/30/19!
In preparation for the
upcoming volleyball evaluations, we have scheduled the following OPEN GYMS:
- 5/4/19 (Saturday) 1pm-3pm – incoming 8th
- 5/5/19 (Sunday) 1pm-3pm – incoming 7th grade
- 5/5/19 (Sunday) 3pm-5pm – incoming 6th grade
These open gyms are
great opportunities for your daughter to come out and get some touches on the
volleyball before evaluations in May. ALL players are welcome! As the girls get
older, the height of the net as well as the distance of the serving line may
change. In addition, they will no longer use ‘volley-lite’ volleyballs starting
in 7th grade, but will rather use regulation volleyballs.
We are still working
with Sports Express to finalize evaluations dates for VARSITY players (incoming
grades 6-8) and will send them out as soon as we get them. They will most
probably be during the week starting on 5/6/19, running through 5/22/19. Each
grade will have 2 evaluation dates and please note… we will not be able to work
around club volleyball practices. If your daughter has club practice during her
evaluation date and time, please have them reach out to their club coach about
missing practice for their school team evaluation. I’ve seen most club coaches
be OK with this in the past.
While attendance at both
evaluations is not mandatory, we do recommend that you try to attend both. In
6th, 7th and 8th grades, we introduce peered/competitive teams, in
addition to balanced/recreational teams. In order to be considered for an A or
B (peered/competitive) team, you must attend at least one evaluation. HOWEVER,
if you want your child to be considered for an A or B (peered/competitive)
team, I STRONGLY recommend that you try to attend BOTH evaluations. If you
would like your daughter to be considered for only a C (recreational) team,
please see the evaluation policy in the handbook online and notify me and Paula
Schafer (Girls Athletic Director) via email, before the first evaluation.
concerning open gyms & evaluations will come out after Spring Break
Thank you and feel
free to contact me with any questions or concerns! Especially if you are
interested in coaching (head or assistant)
